I didn't want tube style rock sliders on my brand new Land Cruiser. After some research, I ran across NYTOP. I actually saw their "Diaper" upgrade for the LC250 first. Then I saw their rock sliders. The styling of the sliders is just what I wanted. But I was a little concerned that they might not be super strong compared to the Dissent Off-Road or Slee Off-Road sliders I'd seen reviewed on other builds online. BOY WAS I WRONG! The NYTOP Rock Sliders are HEAVY DUTY AF with very cleanly done welds. And they were surprisingly easy for a non-mechanic guy like me to bolt on by myself - on the floor of my garage. I used a floor jack and a couple jack stands to help position each slider close enough to the factory bolt holes that I could get a few bolts started pretty easily. From there it was no problem geting them in position and torqued down. The only thing I did differently from NYTOP's instructions was how I reattached the puddle lights under the sliders because the lights didn't illuminate the ground very well how they suggested they get relocated. So instead I removed the LED lights from the odd-shaped plastic mounting pieces and used double sided 3M Tape to attach them in a tight space between a factory bracket and the rocker panel so they point directly down and still be somewhat protected from something contacting them. They illuminate the ground below the rock sliders much perfectly in this position - even better than how they performed on the factory running boards. The NYTOP Rock Sliders look great on my Land Cruiser. They sit high and tight to the body of the truck and work great as a step when accessing my roof rack. I'm confident they will have no problem protecting my truck when they inevitably meet the Earth.
This is a great piece. Well made, solid, clean. Straight forward install. No cutting or drilling. I like that it is long enough and has three slots. Plenty of space.
It’s solid. It is what it claims to be.
Not sure about those bolts, hope they last. Access is tight but doable.
Instructions forgot to mention you have to remove the OEM gas tank skid from the GX OT to get one of the bolts in. I assume same will need to happen if I ever need to remove it.
The skid plates are nice and rugged. They have areas for water and mud to drain out and are easy to install.
